How Effective Are Custom Orthotics?

Our custom orthotics typically last around 2–3 years, although this can vary depending on:
- Body weight and activity levels
- Running and high-impact sports
- Type of footwear
- Orthotic material and construction
- General wear and tear
Patients who regularly participate in running, football or other high-impact activities may require replacement or refurbishment sooner.
We recommend having your orthotics reviewed periodically to ensure they remain suitable and are functioning as intended.
Your bespoke orthotics are typically ready within approximately two weeks following the assessment and prescription.
Once ready, you can collect them from the clinic or arrange delivery.
Where appropriate, we will also advise you on how to introduce your new orthotics gradually and what to expect during the initial adaptation period.
A good orthotic is not simply an insole.
It should be clinically assessed, individually prescribed and designed around the person using it.
