Biomechanical Assessment
£150
A comprehensive assessment of your foot, ankle and lower-limb mechanics.
What to Expect During Your Appointment
1. Clinical History & Assessment
We begin by discussing your symptoms, previous injuries, medical history, activity levels, footwear and any previous treatment or orthoses you have used.
This helps us understand not only where you experience pain, but why it may be occurring and what factors may be contributing to it.
This helps us understand not only where you experience pain, but why it may be occurring and what factors may be contributing to it.
2. Non-Weight-Bearing Assessment
We assess the structure and function of your feet and lower limbs, including:
- Joint range of motion
- Muscle and tendon function
- Foot posture and alignment
- Forefoot and rearfoot mechanics
- Ankle and subtalar joint function
- Areas of tenderness or restriction
3. Weight-Bearing Assessment
We assess how your feet function when standing and how your body distributes load through the feet and lower limbs.
This allows us to identify areas of excessive loading, instability or compensatory movement.

4. Gait & Functional Assessment
We assess your walking pattern and, where appropriate, your running or sporting movement.
We look at how the foot, ankle, knee and hip work together throughout the gait cycle and identify movement patterns that may be contributing to your symptoms.

Foot & Lower-Limb Conditions
- Plantar fasciitis
helping manage excessive loading and improve comfort.
- Achilles tendinopathy
assisting with load management and lower-limb mechanics.
- Flat feet / overpronation
improving support and foot stability where clinically appropriate.
- Bunions
helping redistribute pressure and reduce mechanical irritation.
- Shin splints / medial tibial stress syndrome
assisting with lower-limb load management.
- Metatarsalgia
redistributing pressure away from painful areas of the forefoot.
- Morton’s neuroma
reducing pressure around the affected nerve.
- Posterior tibial tendon dysfunction
supporting the foot and helping manage excessive loading.
- Ankle instability
improving foot and lower-limb stability.
- Knee pain
addressing contributing biomechanical factors where appropriate.
- Hip and lower-limb pain
where altered foot mechanics may be contributing to symptoms.
- Sports-related injuries
particularly where repetitive loading or biomechanical factors are contributing to symptoms.
