Professional treatment to remove verrucas safely and effectively, relieving discomfort and preventing spread.

Verruca Treatment

Our Verruca Treatment service provides targeted care for the elimination of verrucas—common viral skin lesions that typically appear on the feet. Caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), verrucas can become painful and persistent if left untreated. We offer a range of clinically approved treatment options including cryotherapy (freezing), topical medicated solutions, and laser therapy, depending on the severity and location of the growth. Our specialists ensure a hygienic, comfortable process aimed at fast healing and reducing the risk of recurrence or transmission.

What are verrucae?

Verrucae are warts that commonly occur on the soles of the feet or around the toes, caused by the human papillomavirus. The virus is thought to thrive in moist, damp environments such as swimming pools and communal shower areas.
Verrucae are harmless but can become painful if they develop on a weight-bearing area of the foot. Evidence suggests that verrucae will disappear on their own accord within six months for children, and up to two years for adults, however, this isn’t always the case.

How do you treat verrucae?

For recently formed verrucae, we may discuss the use of chemical-based treatments, which can be both highly effective and self-limiting, meaning if treatment is painful you are in control to stop it worsening.
For stubborn verrucae, we have a range treatments, Cryotherapy and Falkner Needling Technique, all of which are highly effective.

From what age do you treat verrucae?
For some of our chemical treatments, children as young as 5 may receive treatment, or from age 9–10 for advanced treatments, such as acid or Verrutop.
